The Jericho Mile:
In April of 2012 I completed the final lap of my
dental marathon. It seems as if it was only yesterday and yet, it feels like a
life time ago when I first began writing this blog. To smile proudly while boldly
laughing with sheer unbridled abandon is quite frankly one of the most
liberating and empowering feelings I’ve experienced in years. I smile every
chance I get. I even smile in my sleep. I know this because I wake up smiling. I
smile at everything and everyone. In fact, people look at me and think I’m
on mood elevators. And yes, having your smile return like a long lost friend is
indeed a mood elevator. There was a time not too long ago when I was plagued
with reoccurring nightmares that my teeth had broken off and all that remained were
jagged shards resembling sharks teeth; I’d wake shaking fearful and shamed that
the inevitability of my nightmares would eventually become my reality. But
alas, no more fear or anxiety. Now I’m able to indulge in the simplest of
pleasures like biting into a crisp juicy delicious apple without fear, or pain.
Or savoring the crunchy texture and buttery flavor of macadamia nuts; things
I haven’t been able to enjoy in 30 years.
This experience has impacted me on so many levels not
just cosmetically; although the aesthetics are absolutely beautiful, but more importantly, this journey has opened a different type
of door, a door to a higher level of health and wellness that I might not have
opened before. It inadvertently took me down a path and forced me to
restructure not only what I ate; based on the foods I could masticate, but also
made me more cognizant of the nutrient value of those foods. I have now applied
this new found knowledge to my daily life. The overall effect has been
tremendous. The quality of my life, health and mood is a direct result of these
nutritional changes. I now have the energy, strength and wisdom to set out and
conquer anything I set my mind to.
Would I do this again? In a heartbeat! I highly
recommend this procedure, but more directly, I recommend the team at SecureSmiles to anyone who has ever been plagued with pain from gum disease and tooth
loss as a result, or the inconvenience, embarrassment and social stigma
associated with wearing dentures. You don’t have to suffer any longer. There is
no greater investment then investing in your health and wellness. Everyone
deserves to enjoy a higher quality of life. I hope that in sharing my
experience, others will take that leap of faith. It will change your life
forever. You won’t regret it.
Secure Smiles, it time to stand up and take a bow. Bravo,
Kudos and Cheers you’re the BEST of the BEST! You gave me back the most precious gift of all,
a healthy smile.
Cheers, to your health.
